Terms and Conditions
PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITY
Though the majority of our trips are not strenuous, participants should be in good health for hiking excursions, as well as stand up paddleboarding. Participants agree to Ocean Edge Expeditions Terms and Conditions, Assumption of Risk, and Waiver and Liability upon registration.
Ocean Edge Expeditions assumes no responsibility for loss, theft, damage or accident to participant's baggage or personal effects. Ocean Edge Expeditions assumes no responsibility when any accommodation provider, airline, ferry, or other transportation operator is unable to provide any services assigned. Ocean Edge Expeditions shall use its best efforts to reschedule tours cancelled due to other service providers’ scheduling interruptions.
ASSUMPTION OF RISK
Experience(s) conducted by Ocean Edge Expeditions involves certain risks and dangers that include, but are not limited to, the forces of nature, terrorism, civil unrest, wild animals, roads, vehicles, ferries, trails or other means of conveyance or accommodation which may not be operated nor maintained to standards common in Canada. There are inherent risks and dangers with the excursion, known or unknown, relating but not limited to automobiles, watercraft, or nature walks and hikes, swimming, bird watching, wildlife viewing, and acts of nature including weather, wildlife, or human. Participants release Ocean Edge Expeditions and their officers, agents, leaders, and employees from all responsibility for damages, injuries, deaths, losses or delays due to any reason whatsoever, and assume responsibility for all risks and dangers in connection with the excursion.
An accident or illness could occur in remote places without access to immediate or timely medical treatment or facilities. Medical services or facilities may not be readily available during all or part of any trip. This includes emergency medical care, presence of physicians, and adequate medication.
PAYMENT
Full payment due ninety (90) days prior to scheduled tour.
CANCELLATION / REFUND POLICY
Cancellation made in writing with 61 days’ notice: 100% refund.
Cancellation made in writing with 30 to 60 days’ notice: 50% refund.
Cancellation within 29 days of departure: NO REFUND. No refund will be made for lost nights or services due to flight delays or cancellation, including weather delays. Ocean Edge Expeditions will work with clients to re-schedule tours on alternate dates with 29 days’ notice. Ocean Edge Expeditions strongly recommends that you purchase Travel Insurance. It is the guest’s responsibility to ensure Ocean Edge Expeditions has received cancellation notice in writing; email is acceptable.
Ocean Edge Expeditions reserves the right to cancel any trip due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances. 100% refund will be provided if such an infrequent circumstance should occur, or government travel restrictions are imposed.
CHANGES TO SERVICES
Ocean Edge Expeditions reserves the right to make changes to the published itinerary whenever, in its judgment, conditions warrant. Ocean Edge Expeditions reserves the right to withdraw without penalty any tour that it has scheduled and announced.
The right is reserved to decline to accept any person as a member of the tour, or to require any participant to withdraw from the tour at any time, when such action is determined by the tour director or supplier to be in the best interests of the health, safety, or general welfare of the tour group or of the individual participant.
